This preparation happens progressively, at the right time, when the relevant phase arrives. Depending on the city and the resources available, it can take place remotely or in spaces/centres allowing candidates to train under good conditions.
BTG prepares, guides, trains and informs the candidate. For their part, the candidate must remain disciplined, work on their German and take the instructions given seriously, because their success also depends on their personal commitment.

If I fail an interview with a company, is everything over?

No - a failed interview doesn't necessarily mean the end of the file, but the mistakes must be analysed and the next attempt better prepared.
An interview can fail for several reasons: insufficient German level, stress, poor understanding of the profession, inconsistent answers, lack of preparation, or an unsuitable profile.
After a difficult interview, BTG can help analyse:
- what did not work;
- questions that were poorly answered;
- the candidate's weak points;
- corrections to make;
- the strategy for the next interviews.
The most important thing is that the candidate accepts the feedback and seriously works on their weak points.

How does BTG help me with the visa?

BTG helps prepare the visa file, the embassy checklist, the necessary documents and the visa interview - but the final decision belongs to the embassy.
Phase 3 is centred on visa preparation. It can include:
- identifying the embassy checklist for the candidate's country;
- checking the required documents;
- preparing the visa file;
- coaching for the embassy interview;
- clarifying financial proofs if necessary;
- support through to submission of the file.
BTG cannot guarantee the embassy's decision, but can help avoid mistakes, omissions and inconsistencies in the file.

Do I need a blocked account or financial proof?

It depends on the path, the expected salary, the country, the embassy and the requirements applicable at visa time.
For certain paths, notably studies or certain low-paid training programmes, the authorities may request proof of financial capacity. This can take different forms depending on the case:
- a blocked account;
- a guarantor;
- a sponsorship declaration;
- proof of the sponsor's income;
- a sufficient Ausbildung salary;
- another proof accepted by the embassy.
BTG analyses this point at the time of visa preparation, as requirements can vary depending on the country, the type of visa and the candidate's file.

If the embassy refuses my visa, what do we do?

First, understand the reason for the refusal, analyse the file, and check whether a correction, a new application or another strategy is possible.
A visa refusal should not be treated in a panic. The official reasons for the refusal must be analysed, checking for example whether the problem comes from:
- a missing document;
- insufficient financial proof;
- doubts about the motivation;
- an inconsistency in the file;
- a level of German judged insufficient;
- an issue related to the contract or admission;
- poor preparation for the interview.
BTG can help analyse the situation and define the next options, but the final decision remains that of the competent authorities.

Can BTG finance the deposit or the blocked-account funds?

BTG is not a bank and does not automatically guarantee financing of the blocked account. BTG can advise on the available options depending on the path.
The blocked account or financial proof serves to show that the candidate can cover their living costs in Germany. Depending on the type of visa, the candidate may sometimes prove their financial means through:
- a blocked account;
- a sufficient Ausbildung salary;
- a sponsorship declaration;
- a scholarship;
- a guarantor;
- another proof accepted by the competent authority.
BTG can support the analysis and explain the possible options. But unless there is a specific written agreement, BTG does not directly finance the candidate's blocked account.

Is the blocked account always mandatory?

No, not always. It depends on the type of visa, the expected salary, the path and the accepted financial proofs.
The blocked account is a common way to prove financial means, but it is not always the only solution.
For a company-based Ausbildung, the training salary may sometimes be enough if it reaches the required level. If the salary is insufficient, it may be necessary to supplement it with a blocked account or another accepted financial proof.
For studies or certain unpaid paths, a larger financial proof is generally required.
BTG must analyse each file according to the type of visa, the contract, the pay, the competent embassy and the current requirements.

The blocked account or financial proof depends on the project type: studies, Ausbildung, training salary, sponsorship, guarantor or another solution accepted for the file.
It is therefore not possible to answer in general terms without analysing the candidate's situation.
BTG discusses this point during the profile analysis and especially at the time of visa preparation. Depending on the case, solutions may exist: a blocked account, a financial supplement, a sponsorship arrangement, a guarantee, or a strategy suited to the type of path.
These elements are dealt with seriously during interviews and as part of the support. The candidate and their sponsor must be transparent about their financial capacity so that BTG can propose a realistic orientation.

Once the visa is granted, does BTG continue the support?

Yes. The arrival in Germany is part of what BTG prepares - the goal is for the candidate not to be left alone, especially on a first installation.
BTG organises or coordinates the arrival at the right time: airport, flight time, address of the accommodation, local contact, transport, welcome or guidance to the right solution. Depending on the city, BTG can mobilise a team member, an agent, a partner or a local contact to facilitate this first step.
The goal is for the candidate to arrive in a reassuring setting, with a clear plan for reaching their accommodation and starting their integration under good conditions.

- create their initial profile;

- follow the checklists;
- update their language level;
- complete missing information;
- receive instructions by phase.
This organisation also allows the BTG team and its internal tools to better understand each candidate's context and to prepare personalised CVs, letters, files and action plans more quickly.

What is a sworn translation and why do I need one?

A sworn translation is produced by a translator who has taken an oath before a court of appeal. Each page is signed and stamped, which makes it officially valid for German embassies, consulates and universities.
German authorities (embassy, consulate, university, Agentur für Arbeit) only accept translations produced by a sworn translator. A regular translation, even a good one, will be rejected.
BTG works with a sworn translation office based in Germany, so every document delivered carries exactly the certification format these authorities expect.

The documents covered by the BTG process: diplomas, transcripts, internship certificates and birth certificate.
The translation service covers the documents needed for an Ausbildung, study or visa file to Germany:

- transcripts;
- internship and training certificates;
- birth certificate.

How long does it take to translate my documents?

Express: 48 business hours. Standard: 4 business days. Weekends and public holidays in Cameroon and Germany are not counted.
Two service levels are offered on the translation page:
- Express: delivery within 48 business hours.
- Standard: delivery within 4 business days, at a lower rate.
The timelines start from the moment payment is confirmed. Files received outside business hours start the countdown on the next business day. Poor scan quality or missing pages can extend the timeline.

How much does it cost to translate my documents?

Pricing is per page and per document, identical across all document types. The exact rate for the Express and Standard tiers is displayed publicly on the service page.
Pricing is deliberately simple and transparent:
- Express (48 business hours): a fixed rate per page, per document;
- Standard (4 business days): a fixed rate per page, per document, lower than Express.
The exact rate in FCFA is displayed publicly on the translation service page. It applies in the same way to all supported document types, including GCE O-Level and A-Level.

Question 60

How do I pay for the translation service?

Accepted Answer

Payment is via Orange Money or SEPA bank transfer, your choice. The details and the exact amount are shown after you submit the form; the payment reference must be pasted into the form.
The three-step payment process:
- Fill in the form with your documents and get the total amount;
- Send the exact amount to the Orange Money number shown at the end of the form;
- Paste the OM transaction reference into the form and submit it.
The translation starts as soon as the BTG team confirms receipt of the payment. For now, only Orange Money is accepted.

Is the translation really accepted by German embassies and universities?

Yes. All translations are produced by a sworn translation office based in Germany and carry the official signature and stamp required by embassies, consulates and universities.
A sworn translation has the same official value as a notarised document. It is signed and stamped by a translator who has taken an oath before a German court of appeal, which is exactly the format required by:
- German embassies and consulates abroad;
- German universities (Studienkolleg, Bachelor's, Master's);
- the Agentur für Arbeit for Ausbildung and skilled-worker files;
- German authorities in general.
However, BTG cannot guarantee an authority's final decision on the whole file: the translation is compliant, but the decision also depends on the other elements of the file.

Do I need to be a BTG candidate to use the translation service?

No. The translation service is open to anyone who needs a sworn translation into German, whether or not they are a BTG candidate.
The translation service is an independent service offered by BTG. You do not need to have an open support file to use it: simply fill in the public form, pay and collect your translated documents.
If you are a BTG candidate, the translation is simply one step among others in preparing your file; the team can help you choose the right time and the right documents to translate.

Question 63

What if I find an error in the translation I received?

Accepted Answer

Report the error to BTG as soon as possible. Real errors attributable to the translator are corrected free of charge.
The sworn translator proofreads every document before delivery, but an error can still happen, especially with proper names, dates or grades.
Procedure in case of an error:
- Precisely identify the error (page, line, expected value);
- Write to BTG with the details within days of delivery;
- If the error is confirmed as attributable to the translator, a corrected version is provided at no extra cost.
Corrections requested by the candidate based on information different from what was originally provided (for example, a new document) may be charged.

How will I receive my translated documents?

Accepted Answer

You receive a secure email link to download the translation as a signed and stamped PDF. Paper copies can be requested separately.
At the end of the chosen timeline, BTG sends an email with a secure link to download the translation in PDF format. The PDF contains the sworn translator's signature and stamp, which makes it officially valid for German authorities.
For most online steps (applying to a university, an Ausbildung file), the PDF is enough. If you need original paper copies with a physical signature (for example, for the embassy appointment), request this from BTG: a separate shipment can be arranged.
